!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! isn't a "NP or CP?" post because there's no question. I was actually considering texting the person who posted this Craigslist ad to say "Hey, I'm not interested in buying your car, but I just thought you should know it looks awesome." But that's what murderers and stalkers do. And I've never been convicted of either.

Since that would've been really creepy of me, instead I'm posting a link to this sweet 1990 VW Corrado G60. That means it's the supercharged one.

Kinja'd!!!

The interior of this particular G60 looks exemplary, but it's that paint job that caught my eye. What a perfect choice. I think it needs some old school BBS wheels, but my taste and knowledge in wheels isn't so great.

Kinja'd!!!

Also as a bit of history: Do you know why the G60 is called the G60? Because apparently Germans have this awesome term for some superchargers galled "G laders." Sort of like G Wagen or G Thang, except the G just means G. Like the shape. According to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , universally accepted source of facts, "lader" means supercharger and "G" describes the [edit] INTERNAL shape of the supercharger. So don't expect to see why they call it a G-lader when you pop the hood.

As always, this vehicle should be considered with caution. I'm from Pittsburgh, which is part of the infamous Rustbelt for two reasons, one is the condition of vehicles. There aren't any pics of the underside of this car, but if it got repainted, you might want to ask the seller why. Regardless, this thing looks incredible and has insane style points for the supercharger.

I'm more interested in getting a VR6 but daaaaaamn that's a nice car! I usually don't like VWs (or most German cars for that matter) but I make an exception for the Corrado.

Definitely a NP, go for it!

Oh I'm not interested in buying it. I just browse Craigslist like some people browse personal ads - passes the time. But I have to agree, it looks REALLY nice.

Ah I see, I also like to window shop so I should have figured. By the way you might want to clarify that Wikipedia actually says that the "G" is from the internal shape of the scroll supercharger's mechanism and not the car.

I wish it was in my area.. that is a perfect car for me. I would totally drive that thing. Manual. Under 100,000 miles. Low price. Unique. It is perfect.

(IMO) The answer to G60 is always no. I've heard horrendous things reliability-wise, and it can be hard to find a clean, low-mileage one for a good price.
Believe me, I looked for a while. Its definitely a cool car. I'd go with an Audi Coupe Quattro instead though, because 5 cylinder, 4WD, bulletproof, and basically everyone comes up to me and asks if its a Corrado anyways. I guess they SORT of look similar...

As a Honda guy myself, any VW to me is CEL city. But I would imagine it's especially so when you add mechanical forced induction.

Thank you! Didn't realize it was inside the s/c. I thought it was the shape of the entire unit.

Wow that's kind of sad that some one would mistake this beauty for that

Kinja'd!!!

I kind of see it but sad for you having to explain that. I also agree, g60 is trouble stick with the VR6. Just because they way it sounds too.

No, I'm not that lucky, unfortunately (I'd kill for that car).

Well there was something I heard about some part of the transmission being held on by rivets which tend to break (creating a gaping hole in the transmission), but that's an easy (and quite cheap) fix apparently if you make sure to do it before the problem appears. Also, this car is quite cheap and has fairly low mileage (for a FWD hatch, a.k.a. the kind of car that owners tend to DD all year round). Heck, my Celica has more miles on the clock than this Corrado and is just fine!

For some reason this reply and my reply to it aren't visible when you view the OP, weird!
